“While I’ve embarked on many self-guided microdosing experiences, this time was profoundly different.
Having Azalea as my guide made the experience far more potent than when I’ve microdosed on my own.
The care and safety with which she approaches this work, coupled with her deep indigenous wisdom and extensive study and practice, have opened new doors for me and brought me into deeper connection with my body, mind, and spirit. This connection has completely transformed how I relate to the medicine and my healing process.”

WHY BEGIN THIS JOURNEY ?
In times when our world is disconnected, returning to the roots of our most ancient wisdom provides solace & a loving path forward.
As a medicine woman Indigenous to the heart of Mexico {lands where this sacred medicine comes from}, I've experienced firsthand the profound healing and enlightenment that creating a relationship with teonanacatl can offer.
Consuming the sacred mushroom alone immediately provides us with incredible physiological and psychological benefits. Expanding that consumption to conscious, ritual engagement has the potential to enhance our experience in ways we did not even know were possible: integrating unconditional love & gratitude into how we live our daily lives and extending that to the world around us.
After learning about psychedelics through the lens of Western therapy, I returned to my homelands to learn from the Mazatec people who have been working with psilocybin mushrooms medicinally for thousands of years.
The tools that I learned in Indigenous apprenticeship helped me to navigate psychedelic experiences and the medicine path with deep care, reverence, and spiritual safety. These are tools that I could NOT find in the Western psychedelic movement.
Being an Indigenous person from the lands of the medicine that also speaks English, I was gifted with the sacred task of sharing these important Earth-given tools with others seeking to learn. Others seeking to walk with psilocybin mushrooms as an ally, in Right Relationship. 🪶
This course is my way of sharing these sacred practices, ensuring they're respected and preserved while making them accessible in an ethical way to those who feel called to learn the way of the sacred mushroom.
Meet Your Facilitator
Indigenous and Modern guide for your journey.
Azalea Montaño-Kemp
Indigenous Medicine Woman, Ceremonial Leader, & Psychedelic Professional
Through nurturing and intuitive guidance, Azalea specializes in blending Indigenous wisdom with modern psychology to help preserve ancient traditions in the modern day.
Her personal journey with plant medicines led to profound healing from PTSD, Depression, & Anorexia. This healing led Azalea to study deeper the psychological benefits of psychedelics, becoming a professional in the space.
However, being Indigenous to Mexico {Wixarika}, she chose to re-learn ancient mushroom traditions under Mazatec elders and healers, fostering a deep commitment to preserving these ancient practices globally.
Also having completed plant dietas under the Shipibo lineage in the Amazon rainforest and years of Temazcal training with Mexica elders (Aztec leaning tradition), she thoughtfully incorporates diverse healing traditions into her work.
Azalea’s Further Qualifications Include:
➳ facilitator at The Microdosing Institute
➳ guest teacher at The Fungi Academy
➳ certification for Substance Abuse Treatment with Psychedelic Therapy
➳ 5+ years of facilitating psychedelic experiences globally
➳ 3+ years of leading all-inclusive psychedelic retreats
➳ psychedelic journalist (published writing in 3 books + in-app educational content for international psychedelic company Field Trip Health)
➳ 3+ years of advising research non-profits in the psychedelic space
Above all, Azalea considers herself a child of Mother Earth, here to inspire others to reconnect to their most ancient roots as they enter healing journeys with sacred plant medicines.
Our Commitment to the Earth & Each Other
This journey is a commitment to healing not just ourselves but our community and the Earth. We approach this work with reverence, reciprocity, and a deep responsibility to the Earth, our ancestors, and future generations.
This is NOT an official training course. You will NOT leave this journey with a certification of any kind to serve sacred medicine ceremonies. Although led with Indigenous wisdom, this journey is not an official initiation. As initiations in lineage require contact with Indigenous lands and elders.
However, this journey will provide anyone on a shamanic journey with the tools to navigate that with care, honor, and respect.
